EverCrisp® MAIA1 cv. is a dense apple selection that has long storability much like its name suggests. The selection was bred by the Midwest Apple Improvement Association (MAIA) and is a cross between Fuji and Honeycrisp. EverCrisp® has a long picking window and sweet flavor. Naturally, all of these characteristics depend on the farm location and individual growing seasons, but these are the early results as reported by various members. MAIA1 apples that meet quality requirements will be sold as EverCrisp®.
- Sweet flavor
- Greater apple density
- Crispy, breaking texture similar to Honeycrisp, but slightly harder

- Resembles Fuji in shape and appearance
